Ford Motor Co., Lyft Inc. and Toyota Motor North America are among members of a new coalition to discuss how autonomous vehicle technology will change the U.S. workforce.

The Partnership for Transportation Innovation and Opportunity officially launched Tuesday, according to a news release. It will start conversations on how technology affects workers and how to fix the problems that emerge as the automotive industry cycles forward.

Other members are Daimler AG, the American Trucking Associations, FedEx Corp., Uber Technologies Inc. and Waymo.

Ford and Toyota are among those investing substantially in mobility. Michigan is looking to position the state as a breeding ground for new ideas and testing in the field.
