Ann Arbor-based May Mobility opens Detroit office

May Mobility, an Ann Arbor-based tech startup that builds self-driving shuttles, is opening a location at 601 Franklin in the 600 Woodbridge Building just east of the Renaissance Center, TSG Properties announced today.

From the new location, May Mobility will provide full-time operational support to its partners and coordinate future route expansions.

The move comes with May Mobility’s recent partnership with Detroit’s Bedrock that deployed autonomous shuttles in downtown Detroit beginning on June 27. The deployment was the first independent autonomous vehicles used on public streets in any urban core in the U.S.

The vehicles transport employees of Quicken Loans and its Family of Companies, including Bedrock, between offices, parking sites, events, and other downtown destinations via a one-mile loop connecting the Bricktown Parking Garage, One Campus Martius (former Compuware Building), and First National Building.
