Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV confirmed Tuesday it will revive a previously idled engine plant in the city as part of the Auburn Hills-based automaker’s plans to invest $4.5 billion in five Michigan plants. The plant actions would create about 6,500 new jobs in Metro Detroit, would help solve capacity problems for Fiat Chrysler in North America, and would pave the way for future production of electrified Jeep SUVs.
