The second week of October has been branded Mobility Week Detroit.

From Oct. 7 through Oct. 12, a series of events will take place throughout the city, demonstrating all the ways in which Detroit is an international hub for all things mobility.

Groups as varied as a hospital and an automotive accelerator will host events throughout the week to prove just that.

Let’s take a look at events so far scheduled:

The Eye, The Brain & The AutoThe 8th World Research Congress on Vision and Driving is being presented by Henry Ford Health System to examine the impact disruptive autonomous vehicle technology has on healthcare. Analysis will include how autonomous vehicles will affect health care but also how health care can affect the development of autonomous vehicles.

Sunday, Oct. 7 – Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Motor City Casino

Techstars Demo Day: In what’s being dubbed the largest single-day startup and innovation event in Michigan, Techstars Mobility Accelerator presents its Demo Day. The startup accelerator will have its 2018 class of startups exhibit its work to a room full of more than one thousand people, including investors and automotive and transportation industry professionals, allowing them the opportunity for exposure and investor dollars.

Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Detroit Film Theater

Detroit Moves: While some events may be of more interest to members of the automotive and mobility industries themselves, this outdoor festival is designed with the general public in mind. Free to all, this Quicken Loans event brings next generation mobility technology to the people. Learn more about autonomous vehicles, shared mobility, last mile forms of transportation, and, yes, a flying car.

Wednesday, Oct. 10 – Thursday, Oct. 11 at Spirit Plaza

MICHauto Summit: Michigan’s Automotive Accelerator MICHauto is hosting this summit as a networking opportunity for students and interns to interact with leaders of the automotive industry. Topics discussed include career opportunities and the future of the automotive, mobility, and technology industries.
